About The Heavy Metal Foundry

Focusing on acts from 1965 right through the 80's, the Foundry features a vast pantheon of bands that gave form and definition to that sound we all lovingly call Heavy fuckin' Metal.

We intend to promote awareness of forgotten artists and reigning legends by reviewing classics of the genre thereby tracing the origins of Heavy Metal.

A Tribute To Thrash Metal

The mid-eighties. Thrash Metal's heyday. The year 1986. Possibly the genre's brightest hour with some of the biggest bands coming up some with truly breath-taking work. And a good 24 years have passed since these colossal monsters of thrash released some of their greatest, biggest and most critically acclaimed albums.

Metallica - Master of Puppets.

Megadeth - Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?

Slayer - Reign In Blood.

Motorhead - Orgamatron.

Kreator - Pleasure To Kill.

Sepultura - Morbid Visions.

King Diamond - Fatal Portrait.

Dark Angel - Darkness Descends.

Possessed - Beyond the Gates.

Raven - The Pack is Back.

This year - 2010, 24 years down the line, 4 of the biggest thrash metal artists - Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax will perform on the same stage, for the very first time in history. And hopefully, what all thrash metal fans hope for would be that the bands go back to their roots that hooked us to their sound to begin with. Here's to a great concert with the big four.
