Downing Retires

Judas Priest have announced that their guitarist KK Downing has retired and will therefore not be joining the band on their upcoming tour- Epitaph. the remaining band members have unanimously decided to carry on with the tour and have decided to replace him with 31 yr old British guitarist Richie Faulkner.

The tour is set to have songs from all their previous studio albums and also includes tracks that have never been played before.

Lars to write liner notes for Megadeth

So miracles do happen.

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich is all set to write liner notes for an upcoming reissue of his former bandmate turned arch enemy turned on stage co-performer's Dave Mustaine's Megadeth's epic , ‘Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?’.

This is the latest development in a chaotic relationship spanning 3 decades - a history which would make any Indian TV soap green with jealousy.

The classic album has been digitally remastered for the first time and expanded for a commemorative 25th-anniversary release in multiple configurations on July 12 by Capitol/EMI.
It also includea a previously unreleased 1987 concert from the band’s first world tour and new liner notes written by Mustaine and Ulrich.The cover of the box uses a new, unique process of lenticular 3D which reinterprets the original cover, creating the illusion of Megadeth’s Vic Rattlehead character jumping out of the art.

Going by the looks of things I wont be surprised if we hear the news of a (and also because I am silently praying for) an Metallica-Megadeth combined album. Or even a combined compilation of the two's classic thrash hits.
